Wolf from the Past

Sylvie LaForge knew coming back from the dead wouldn’t be easy but the way Gator Rollins watches her every move makes her decidedly uneasy and excited in this gripping paranormal romance.
Gator never got a chance to tell Sylvie that he loved her and now that he has a second chance he’s determined that this time he won’t let anyone or anything get between him and Sylvie and the reader’s heart can’t help but be touched by the love and tenderness that Gator shows Sylvie as she tries to adjust to being among family again. The chemistry between Gator and Sylvie sizzles with lots of heat and the sex scenes are sweet and sensual but with such a horrific past, there is a lot of emotional walls that will need to come down in order for the relationship to progress and these strong, compelling characters grab the attention as the fast paced, smooth flowing plot captivates readers with suspense, excitement, turmoil and romance.
Expectation builds throughout the story as the Salvation Pack realizes that their former pack will be coming for Sylvie and excitement builds as tension within the pack escalates and they discover that someone with an obsession for Sylvie may just be leading the charge. The intriguing events draw the reader in while the well written scenes and details capture the imagination and make it easy for the reader to become absorbed in the story and the intense emotions that flow from every page.
I was thoroughly enthralled by Sylvie and Gator’s story from the very beginning and I have to say that I enjoyed meeting the Salvation Pack but in regards to that while it wasn’t absolutely necessary to read the previous books in the series, I do wish that I had because I missed out on the events that led up to this point but of course that means that I have some enjoyable stories to get busy reading.

Good read!

Wolf from the Past by N.J. Walters is a double first for me. Both a first by this author and first in the series for me. Sometimes jumping into a series can be a big mistake especially if there is quite a bit of world building to go along with introducing characters. Thankfully, I was able to get right into the story with only a few minor hiccups,
To escape a violent mating, Sylvie has been faking her death for years. Once she receives word her mate was dead, she approaches her brother in his new pack in hopes to have him back in her life. Not only is she welcome back with open arms, but a werewolf she has always had feeling for is part of his pack. Gator was raise in the swamp, always on the fridge of his former Louisiana pack, he has struck out with his friends to form a new pack. He's always wanted his best friend's sister but her parents have never considered him worthy. Now that she's back in his new pack and in his life Gator will do whatever it takes to protect her from further harm.
Wolf from the Past was a good read. Sylvie was abused fairly harshly by her previous mate and as the story about how she faked her death came into play, it was hard not to feel bad for her. Gator is pretty sexy and intense about his feeling for Sylvie. There's a really instant attraction between them that, at first, was kind of difficult to get over. Let's face it, she was abused pretty badly by her dead mate. For her to jump into a relationship so quickly with Gator had me doubting the velocity of the romance. Once, it can out that both had been carrying torches for one another for a long time, then I was okay with it.
What really had me cheering this story on was the dynamics of the Salvation Pack. The interactions of all the mated couples and how they interacted with each other, good stuff here. It was such fun and friendly, it makes me want to go back and read all their stories. On top of that, there is a good world building here with the what and whys of the Salvation Pack. As I mentioned, this is the first book I read in the series, but it's easy to see there's a epic battle coming. There's one more member in the pack that has yet to settle down which tells me I have some back reading to do before the final book comes out.

I am absolutely in love with the Salvation Pack and its members

As the fourth book in the author’s Salvation Pack series, all I keep asking myself is –
Why have I not read the rest of this series?
And
Why haven’t I read anything from this author before?
N.J. Walters knocks it out of the park with this story, which makes me want to read everything from her! The story is well developed, characters well written, and sexy time is HOT HOT HOT! I am absolutely in love with the Salvation Pack and its members!!
Wolf from the Past features Gator and Sylvie. Coming from an abusive past, Sylvie went on the run and into hiding for a long time. After hearing of her abusive mate’s death, she comes out of hiding and is pleasantly surprised to find that her brother, and a few others, have left her uncle’s tyrannical pack. Her brother, Armand, is relieved to find out that she is alive and ok. But, so is someone else. Gator.
Gator mourned the loss of Sylvie long ago, but now that she is back he wants to claim her as his mate. He loved her long before she left, but circumstances got in the way and they couldn’t together. Understandably, Sylvie is leery about mating to someone else after all she has been through, so Gator must prove his love and loyalty to the broken wolf.
The way Gator went about winning over Sylvie’s trust made me swoon! What a sweet and sexy wolf he is! He didn’t push or intimidate her and instead knew how broken she was and became tender and sweet…exactly what she needed. While their sex scenes were steamy, they were, also, tender and sweet. Again, very swoon worthy! Really, there isn’t anything to not like about this story.
I highly, highly, recommend reading this book and will be stalking….I mean, following….this author from now on!
