During his career he designed and implemented numerous databases for a wide range of applications, including ERP. I recommended this book to a couple of clients who wanted to learn APEX. I generally recommend to also start with Beginning Oracle Application Express 5 as it explains quite well how APEX hangs together. Follow with this book as it takes you through building a nice complete application which represents a real world scenario with dumbing it down or making it too complex. It will give you a great foundation to build your APEX skills upon.
