Lots of your racing "why" answered

During the race, you see WHAT others are doing. This book provided me with lots of explanations about WHY the best racers are doing what they are doing - a kind of explanations you so rarely can get from other racers, coaches, etc. Invaluable for self-training.

Racing Tactics

This is the best of the Dr. Walker books. It's a concise treatice on all the tactical elements needed for around the buoys racing.

Good (but not as good as "Tactics for Small Boat Racing")

I did get this after reading "Tactics of Small Boat Racing" (TSBR) by the same author over the last couple of winters. And I did get some further nuggets of information regarding race positioning which is not covered in that book as explicitly.
The book itself is somewhat more repetitive in its phrases - that does help to drive it home but also gives a sense of "didn't I read that before"). Also I did prefer the TSBR format of small essays.
Also the diagrams are not as clear as the diagrams in TSBR.
If I could only get one book, I would get TSBR, but I did learn quite a few things (since they were put differently) so it was not wasted, but given the repetition and diagrams 4 stars.
